Mercedes Accused Of Lacking Respect Following Bottas Departure

When Lewis Hamilton takes to the track once more for the 2022 Formula 1 season, he will do so alongside new teammate George Russell.

Russell has established himself as an outstanding young driver following his three successful seasons at Williams, and he will be relishing the opportunity to work with Hamilton.

The 23-year-old will line up alongside Hamilton for the upcoming season, and his arrival has seen him take the place of Hamilton’s former teammate Valtteri Bottas.

Bottas has spent five years at Mercedes, in which he has played a key role by helping his team secure five championship victories.

The Finnish driver has now moved to Alfa Romeo on a three-year contract, and he will be looking to build on the 10 grand prix victories that he has achieved so far during his career.

“He’s going to drive in a great stable. However, he will not fight for similar investments compared to Mercedes time. The resources of the stables are not comparable.

“Now, however, he can prepare in the long run. At Mercedes, with one-year contracts, light was always visible at the end of the tunnel, but there was always a locked door.”
