This Is Lovely…Stephen Curry Honored In First Home Game Since Breaking Three-Point Record

Stephen Curry had his first home game since breaking Ray Allen’s all-time regular-season NBA three-point shooting mark and received a stirring tribute from the Chase Center crowd in the Golden State Warriors’ 113-98 win over the Sacramento Kings on Monday night.

Curry was greeted with a video tribute followed by a standing ovation from all the fans who had to watch on television as he surpassed Allen’s 2,973 career three-pointers made during last Tuesday’s game at Madison Square Garden in New York.

The “Chef”, as usual, was the Warriors’ scoring leader, scoring 30 points in the victory and connecting on four of the 12 three-pointers he attempted, in addition to four assists and three rebounds in 36:14 minutes of play.

The game was extra special for Golden State’s other franchise icon, Draymond Green, who notched his first triple-double of the season with 16 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists.

It was the 31st triple-double for Green in his career, which leads this category in Warriors history. Andrew Wiggins and Jordan Poole did not see action for Golden State, for whom the second leading scorer was Damion Lee, who took advantage of the absences to start and score 18 points.

Despite the loss, all five Kings starters scored in double digits, led by Tyrese Haliburton with 24 points and followed by Harrison Barnes (19 points), Buddy Hield (18 points), Chimezie Metu (16 points) and Tristan Thompson (10 points).

With this result, Golden State (25-6) remained in second place in the Western Conference, while Sacramento (13-19) is 11th in the same classification.
